You will no doubt have seen Homes England’s e-mail of 22/09/2021 concerning the “Shared Ownership Model Lease update”.
Please note that as far as the existing form of shared ownership leases are concerned – i.e. for use with current non-grant funded sites and/or sites grant funded from the 2016/2021 allocation – there is no requirement to change/update the wording or format of the shared ownership leases – the existing forms remain fully compliant for Homes England purposes.
This is clearly stated in the Capital Funding Guide at Chapter 1, Section 11.2.2, and the same has been confirmed to us in writing by Homes England.
We will therefore continue to use the existing form of shared ownership lease for current non-grant funded sites and/or sites grant funded from the 2016/2021 allocation unless otherwise instructed.
