Building Safety Act 2022 – Tribunal Decisions So Far…

The first reported decisions under the Building Safety Act have now been made by the First-tier Tribunal. These include applications for a Remediation Contribution Order (RCO), a Remediation Order (RO) along with identification of an Accountable Person/Principal Accountable Person. This session will bring you up to date on all of the reported decisions so far while we provide our take on the themes that are starting to emerge.

Mark London, Partner, Construction

Mark is the Head of the Construction, Engineering & Procurement Team at Devonshires and advises on all aspects of construction law with a particular emphasis on contentious work. Mark has a wide client base and he regularly acts for public bodies, housing developers, Local Authorities and contractors throughout the United Kingdom.

Lee Russell, Partner, Housing Management & Property Litigation

Lee was one of the first solicitors to qualify as part of the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s fully qualifying law degree. He was one of the youngest qualifying solicitors at the time.

Lee advises on all aspects of housing management and property litigation, regularly advising private organisations, land owners, developers, investors, charities, local authorities and some of the largest providers of social housing in the United Kingdom.

Rachel Jones, Solicitor, Housing Management & Property Litigation

Rachel specialises in all aspects of construction and engineering law dispute resolution, including; litigation, adjudication and mediation. She has experience dealing with a wide variety of construction related disputes, primarily for employers; public bodies, including local authorities and registered social landlords and she has been heavily involved in the claims arising from the “cladding crisis”, namely compliance with Building Regulations and fire safety issues in external walls of multi-storey buildings, which has so affected the housing sector.

Hannah Keane, Solicitor, Housing Management & Property Litigation

Hannah joined Devonshires Solicitors in 2015 as Paralegal in the Securitisation Team. After taking six months out to complete her Legal Practice Course, Hannah returned to Devonshires as a Paralegal in the Housing Management Team, where she advised on various issues of disrepair and assisted solicitors on further matters arising out of social housing such as subletting and anti-social behaviour.
