Laura has recently qualified into the Banking team at Devonshires, having completed her third and fourth seats in the team.

Laura has assisted the team with a wide range of matters, including drafting approval documentation, variation letters and deeds of release, conducting due diligence and gaining experience in matters whereby facility agreements were being restated.

Notably she has recently been involved in a large-scale transaction whereby an entity acquired another entity. The transaction involved numerous entities acting in various capacities as borrowers, lenders and guarantors. Essential consents were required from the lenders under the terms of existing loan facility documentation and many restatements were also simultaneously actioned. Laura assisted with the drafting of a large volume of approval documentation required to facilitate the mechanisms including detailed resolutions, certificates and minutes.

Experience

Laura trained with the firm, with her first seat being in Housing Management and Property Litigation where she mainly worked on litigious leasehold matters. Her second seat was in Real Estate and Projects where she conducted title due diligence for large development sites, and her third and fourth seats were in Banking and Banking/Corporate where she worked on facility agreements and charging documents and assisted with capital reductions and share purchases.

Prior to Devonshires, Laura was a Paralegal at another London law firm where she worked in Banking and Real Estate Finance. She predominantly worked for Lender clients by investigating property titles and reporting on risk. Laura managed her own caseload from inception through to completion and finally post completion, charging the relevant titles. She also was a paralegal for 6 months in an off-shore Finance and Corporate team (corporate restructuring).

Personal

Laura is an avid cook and can frequently be found searching for the freshest ingredients at various farmer’s markets in London where she lives. She also loves travelling and is looking forward to planning her next adventure!
