Once we were the Devonshires’ HM Team. Now we are the HMPL (Housing Management & Property Litigation) Team. The new name better reflects the breadth of our practice: as well as advising on all aspects of HM, we have always dealt with pure property disputes: easements, dilapidations, commercial lease disputes, break notices, 1954 Act cases etc. And to reflect the new team name, this edition of the new HMPL Update includes a session on adverse possession – an area of property law which from time to time impacts on housing management. As always, we also have the old favourites – the Case Law Round Up and a Leasehold & Service Charge Update – as well as sessions on the end of section 21 and the Tenant Fees Act. Do come along if you can.
Topics covered:
- End of Section 21 – what does it mean for RPs?
- Adverse possession: a reminder of the law and why it matters to housing practitioners
- Leasehold and Service Charges: the latest cases from the First-tier and Upper Tribunals
- Tenant Fees Act: if you haven’t heard about the ban, now’s your chance to get up-to-date
- Housing Case-Law Round-Up
