Areas of Expertise
Rachel is a knowledge lawyer within our banking and finance practice. Rachel provides legal advice, training and resource to equip and enable her banking colleagues and leads in collaboration and knowledge sharing within Devonshires on banking matters and topical developments in the social housing sector.
Experience
Rachel has many years of experience in advising housing associations on a wide range of financing arrangements, such as secured lending, PFI, hedging, mergers, restructurings, charitable vires, development loans, intra group loans, guarantees and capital markets. In addition to her notable skill and expertise in social housing and charity law, she has worked on the lender-side on many large PFI transactions and has extensive experience advising social housing and UK healthcare providers on all manner of commercial, PFI and governance matters.
Rachel joined Devonshires in 2003 as a transactional lawyer in the banking, corporate and governance team. Following an interim period at other law firms, she returned to Devonshires in 2017, where she now provides legal advice, training and resource to equip and enable her banking colleagues.
Education
Rachel graduated from Sheffield University with a BA in Russian and Spanish, before achieving her legal qualifications at the University of Birmingham and Nottingham Law School.
Personal
I love to swim and to walk with my dog, and I always seem to be busy with a variety of local charitable endeavours, usually linked to my church or my children’s schools.
