Elad is a Partner in the Real Estate and Projects department and advises on a broad range of property transactions with a particular emphasis on development site acquisitions, Section 106 schemes, stock rationalisation and real estate and landlord and tenant matters.

Experience

Elad is a highly regarded partner with close to 18 years experience in the social housing sector, specialising in providing expert advice on a wide spectrum of real estate matters with a focus on residential development projects nationwide and stock rationalisation. Elad and his team was recently highly commended in the Lexis Nexis Legal Awards ‘Deal of the Year’ category for his work on a complex regeneration project delivering more than 1,700 new homes with a gross development value of circa half a billion pounds.

In addition Elad leads the offering on large-scale tenanted portfolio transactions, which encompass tenanted disposals, acquisitions, and swaps. In this capacity, Elad represents a diverse clientele, including housing associations, charitable organisations, local authorities and other corporate entities. Elad’s extensive experience in managing tenanted stock and portfolio transfers is particularly noteworthy having worked on some of the largest transactions of this kind in the sector and Elad is recognised as one of the leading lawyers in this area.

Elad is also head of CSR at the firm, which is something Elad is passionate about, working closely with the firms chosen charities.

Education

Elad graduated with a BA Hons Law and Business degree before completing his LPC. Elad then went on to an LLM Masters degree in Legal Practice where he achieved a distinction.

Personal

A little known fact is that Elad is a qualified Ju Jitsu instructor who has previously won a gold medal at a national competition. Elad recently semi-retired from teaching his club to concentrate more on his golf swing, which to date is still in need of practice.

Elad is also a qualified scuba diver and an avid traveller, having travelled to multiple countries including Bali, Thailand, Cambodia, Mauritius, China, Cape Town and Kenya.

Notable Cases

Acting for Guinness in the social housing sectors’ largest stock swap comprising of the disposal of more than 1,300 tenanted units being sold with the simultaneous acquisition of over 1,100 tenanted units with more than 1,000 titles across the portfolio’s (value in excess of £250 million).

Acting for a G15 Registered Provider in the disposal of more than a 1,500 tenanted units to another RP including dealing with clawback provisions with the local authority, novation of contracts and splitting titles with a value in excess of £75million.

Acting for a G15 Registered Provider in the acquisition of two tenanted portfolios of circa 1,600 tenanted units and the disposal of circa 180 tenanted units for a total value of circa £190million

Acting for Peabody in connection with the regeneration of the West Thamesmead site for the provision of circa 1750 new residential homes, as well as in excess of 50,000 sq.ft for employment, community, and retail with an estimated gross development value in excess of £450million.

Acting for a Registered Provider in the sale of a newly constructed development comprising of circa 120 apartments to a PRS provider including the novation of the construction documentation

Acting for a large Registered Provider in the acquisition of over 340 affordable dwellings through a complex development lease structure from a joint venture company, with a value in excess of £80m
