Gary heads up the Leeds banking team and is a member of the firm’s management committee. He also co-heads the Leeds office with Chris Drabble.

He has extensive experience of advising on a range of financial instruments and arrangements, including syndicated and bilateral loan facilities; facility restructurings; mergers; group collapses; intra-group funding; interest rate derivatives; private shelf facilities, and high-value private bond issues. He acts for borrowers, lenders and trustees on real-estate finance related arrangements, with a renowned specialism in social housing finance.

Gary graduated from Durham University with BA (Hons) in Economics and Politics, before completing his CPE at the College of Law in York and the LPC at BPP in Leeds.

Advised The Riverside Group Limited and One Housing Group on the financing arrangements emanating out of their newly forged partnership (forming one of the largest RP groups in the country) and involving more than £1 billion of debt arrangements.

Advised Gentoo on its £460,000,000 ‘big bang’ refinancing involving new loan facilities and a private placement.

Advised Clanmil Housing Association (Northern Ireland) on its first private placement deal (£100,000,000) and advised on all funding matters relating to it.

Advised Onward Homes on £90,000,000 unsecured revolving credit facilities.

Advised Peaks & Plains Housing Trust Limited on their £102,500,000 refinancing project, including a £72,500,000 private placement with Aviva Investors.

Advised a north-west based Housing Association on its debut £100,000,000 private placement, including the deferred funding element.

Advised a Chester based Housing Association on their recent inaugural £50,000,000 private placement of notes with Rothesay Life.
